Contract Awarded - Philippines

Beginning in January 2007, GDMA will provide U.S. Navy Husbanding Services in the Philippines. GDMA received the contract award this week for U.S. Navy husbanding services in the Philippines, awarded by the Contracting Department of the U.S. Fleet & Industrial Supply Center, Yokosuka, Detachment Singapore. This represents the first time GDMA will provide U.S. Navy husbanding services support in the Philippines.


 
USS KITTY HAWK In Hong Kong

After completing Annual Exercise (ANNUALEX) 2006 the Kitty Hawk Strike Group (KHSG) arrived for a port visit to Hong Kong from Nov. 23 to 27 for the Thanksgiving Holidays. GDMA provided comprehensive logistical support for the entire strike group.

The KHSG comprised of USS Kitty Hawk the DDG's USS Stetham, USS Fitzgerald, USS Lassen, USS Mustin, USS Halsey, the SSN USS Asheville and the Oiler USNS Rappahanock.


 
GDMA Support In India

GDMA successfully provided complete husbanding and logistics support to six U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard ships in India 30 Oct through 3 Nov 06. This marked the first time GDMA provided husbanding services to the U.S. Navy & Coast Guard in India. The unprecedented support marked an historic occasion as it was also the first time that the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard had 6 vessels in-port simultaneously. The concurrent visits were at the 2 major ports on India's western coast with the USS BOXER (LHD 5), USS BENFOLD (DDG 65) and USS HOWARD (DDG 83) visiting Mumbai, while the USS BUNKER HILL (CG 52), USS PROVIDENCE (SSN 719) and USCGC MIDGETT (WHEC-726) visited Goa. Prior to the port visit, these ships had successfully participated in the joint U.S. & Indian Navy's exercise, Malabar 2006.


 
USMC Support In Maldives

GDMA successfully supported the U.S. Marine Corps 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) at Laamu atoll Kadhoo in the Maldives from 10-31 October 2006. The USS DUBUQUE (LPD 8) provided support for an amphibious landing and retrieval of required supplies and equipment. The 15th MEU successfully participated in a joint exercise with Maldives military personnel. The contract was competitively awarded by the Contracting Department of the U.S. Fleet & Industrial Supply Center, Yokosuka, Detachment Singapore.
